I have the chance to purchase an Oly H.Zuiko 24/2.8 (along with 35/2 MC, 85/2, 75-150/4, and two OM1 bodies) for $200. I've read here about the bad experiences that others have had with the single-coated version of the 24/2.8. I don't "need" the other lenses, so I'm a bit hesitant even though it's supposed to be a great deal.
Is the single-coated 24/2.8 that much worse than its multi-coated counterpart? I have yet to read about a positive experience with the SC 24/2.8. How is it worse?

Thanks.
I'd take a SC copy in good condition over a dropped MC one any day, and a decent 85/2 can recoup your outlay all by itself. Assuming you've seen the goods, or are willing to take a little risk, it seems like a no brainer.

I purchased a "new" old stock example of this lens a year ago and it was in no way in the same league as the Oly 24 2.8. Either its reputation is unfounded or there is extreme sample variation. Corner sharpness was truly poor.
Tomorrow I receive this lens (Yashica 24/2.8 ML) from eBay, and will report on its performance. At a nice price of $150, it can hardly do wrong and, at the very least, can serve on a cropped sensor.
