I recently bought a couple lenses from B&H and purchased their SageMax warranties. I was looking thru the SageMax pamphlet and I don't see anything about registering my lens with them like I did when they had the Mack warranties. If something did happen, do I just call them up and send them the lens with a copy of my receipt?
If you can purchase your gear with a major credit card, that's often a free way to double the factory warranty. Several of my cards offer this feature, and if your gear fails within that extended period, all you've got to do is have it serviced by the original manufacturer and send the bill to the credit card company. My worry with third-party extended warranties is sending my expensive gear to someone who's clueless about proper service procedures. Just not worth the risk to me, but we've all got to make our own choices.
