I think the 5DMK2 has captured the award for the most complained about new release DSLR yet. And it hasn't even hit the streets. Its kind of amazing really.
Yeah, I am talking about pre-release. Of course once its released the complaints will really start rolling in (even though the 10D is only what, 6-7 years ago)
I wasn't hanging around this place during the 30D launch, I was barely starting my photography journey at that point, and I can totally see why it would get people riled up too, however certainly in the time I've been here, this is by far the most complained about model, and, IMHO, quite rightly, Canon deserve everything they get after all the "future of photography" hype.
Yo, take a chill pill, people! So Canon's product development schedule does not match your own schedule, all of them! Deal with it!
I owned a 20D and "upgraded" to the 30D. Wanna know why, just for the screen. I'm getting older and hate to wear reading glasses for the occassional menu manipulation. The 30D was a big help. My only hopes for the 5DII were for, you guessed it, a larger screen, sensor cleaning, updated menu system (like the 40D and MKIII), and a MP bump. I didn't need that large a bump (gonna need all new hard drives and a RAM upgrade).
If Canon continues to disappoint you, I can't imagine your disappointment at the Chevy Volt.
Canon has the greatest marketshare, so they have the biggest share of complaints as well. Pity the companies that have only a few complaints. They have a lot fewer customers too. Canon has EOSfun and EOSnag

Destined Evolution is a bold statement for Canon then. but who knows, there might be another missle already loaded in the "canon." some people are not happy the released specs but I believe it just sets the stage for the Pro series.
HOWEVER, the secrecy and mass speculation about this camera is what has killed the launch, in my opinion.
Reading this, and other forums, for the past year has prompted the photo community to make up their own specs. And what brilliant specs they were too. It was going to be effectively a 1DsMk4 by the time the FMers had finished, and at less than 2000 bucks.
The only thing that has dampened this release is the reality-check.
I don't think that's strictly true, most of the complainers (myself included) just wanted a Canon D700.....we KNOW that can be done, I said when the 1Ds II came out that I can't imagine a use for that many MP, and my position isn't changed, 12.8 was always more than enough for my (and I suspect most people's) needs.
People want a lexus for the price of a Toyota. most of the Bitchin and whining is by pixel peepers.."iso 640000 shots..look at the noise" ...bleh. either buy teh camera or don't buy...but for frikkin sake..go take a picture.
A fool with a tool is still a fool. no matter how many features and megapixels.
Ocean7, I thought you'd been defending the camera all day ? I'm one of the "bitchers and moaners" that wanted a riposte to the D700 and couldn't give a stuff if it stayed at 13MP
