I love the lighting and the choice of these different types of pears. Both are terrific. I'm not as big of a fan of the cabinet you choice. For me it draws my attention away from the pears. I agree with Jakob that a tighter crop would probably work better for me. Good luck this week,
I like the colors of the pears and the lighting. Both are nice. I like the table they're sitting on, too. Gotta love photography...it is so subjective!
I like this one a lot better. I like the contrast of the colors of the pears and the closer crop. I could take or leave the photo, but overall a very strong entry.

Wonderful work, Carrol! I didn't much like the first one which is why I held off on commenting until I saw your final version. (I knew you were likely to change it. ) I liked the B & W one a lot but this one is much better. I think the biggest problem with the first one was the distracting line above the pears. you've done away with that in this version and now added the funny little touch of the photo alongside. A stroke of genius!! It takes away from the static placement of the pears without overpowering the geometry of the shot. Now this is a real contender.
Aha, I hadn't seen the first change - I like this version much better than your original color entry. Enjoy the off center composition and losing some of the visual competition from above.
