Hello,
I had the opportunity to photograph last weekends PGA tour event, the Deutsche Bank Championship. I used my recently purchased 200-400f4 VR the first few days. It was the first time that I had the chance to really use the lens since buying it a few weeks ago. I found the lens to be very sharp wide open and focus was very fast on the D3 a little slower when I tried it on the D300. Very happy with the lens the zoom ability makes for some nice framing options. I did shoot the last two days with a borrowed 400 2.8 AFS II and that with the D3 was outstanding. Here are a few with the D3 and 200-400 a slideshow for you golf fans can be found on this link:
Very nice pictures!
I watched part of rounds 3 and 4. It's kind of rare we have a Canadian who is doing that good, Mike Weir ended second. That game is part of the PGA playoffs for the Fed Ex cup and Weir is 3rd overall! Sorry to show some patriotism here!
Hello,
Thank you for your comments. The shots of Tiger are from last year at the same event. The slideshow is a blend of shots with the 200-400 f4 VR and 400 2.8 AFS II that was on loan to me. All images were done using the monopod. The 200-400 is only hand holdable for a very limited amount of time. During the tournament and for what I was suppose to capture I kept my setup very simple. One camera, one lens out on the course. Thanks again.
Jack
