C&C welcome. I like the shot I got, which is what I was going for in my mind, but it doesn't stand out as an amazing photo to me.
I welcome any ideas, as I'm just starting to get into photography and could use the help.
Maybe less DOF? *shrug*
This is a very nice picture. Just perfect for the assignment with its harsh lighting and very defined shadows that totally complement the “repetition” concept.
I think the picture would improve a lot if you could re-shoot with a larger aperture to defocus the background a little bit.
Just a thought, but I think I'd like the image better cropped from the top to get rid of the green background. It would make the image more abstract, which you might not have intended, but would still have the repetition of the shadows and the bars.
jban99 - I was thinking the same after I saw it. I won't be able to make it out there so I tinkered with SherriS' idea of cropping. I like this result better because it shows off the hard shadows more (which I definitely intended to capture in the first place, hence the composition I chose).
Originally I wanted the pentagon shape completely, but after editing I realized that this makes me think more of the repetition. Opposed to just thinking of the pentagon shape.
I'll leave it at this and see how I do. Thanks for the feedback everyone! I fully realize that I have a lot to learn, the free help is appreciated.
