This is a cross post with the colour version in the nature and wildlife forum (here).
I felt a bit odd about posting it there and my feelings were confirmed by the 1st reply - perhaps this sort of image is better presented elsewhere.
This image is another combination of a b/w channel mixer layer with a tritone layer. The channel mixer layer has an opacity of 75%, while the tritone layer is at 45%.
Paul - I like the composition. well seen. not sure about the tinting. I tend to prefer 'pure' BW, I like this. now if were solar . . . . .

Thanks Tom. I'm going to hold back on the solarization though, for now at least . I went back in and checked out the tone, I agree with you partly in that I think it is too strong. Just a bit adds something, at least for me, though. Just as I can never resist converting an image to b/w, I now cannot resist toning an image to see how it looks. It's a sickness, I know.
