p.1 #1 · Dragonfly, 2X, ISO1600

made a quick outing this evening to try a 2x I had borrowed. Of course
Had to manually focus the 400mm. This was a Canon 2x TCII, but
for some reason it did not register with the body.

This is a bit soft in evening light, but for ISO 1600 and a 2x,
I am happy with it................1/100, f/16. +.33EV, about 15 ft distance
on the bbbbbbbag

thanks for looking and c/c

Dave, I think you squeezed every ounce of IQ out of this shot. Nothing wrong with that at those settings, I swear these guys never stop moving their eyes or head with eyes attached or whatever it does It is simply a very cool shot to sit back just a tad and enjoy You got the BG looking good there buddy

Wow, beautiful image, Dave. With this close view, there seems to be something human-like about it. The "arms" maybe? At any rate, it's a fantastic pose and great quality. This, with a 2x - amazing.

Hey did you say CHAD BAG!!!
I have a Chad bag !!!!
CHAD BAG CHAD BAG!!!!

ISo 1600 is darn clean Dave

My results with the 2x have been less than stellar. But it seems when I'm trying to use it it's in less than optimal conditions. Is this near FF ? Love the BG and good shot buddy

Excellent shot Dave, but with the 2x and manual focus, it's even sweeter!

Dave,
Congratulations; very nice image! Especially considering with the 2X such low shutter speed with no IS. The BG is suberb.

Great job Dave, that is one low speed for that setup. Good job on the manual focus, that screws me up more than IQ with the 2x.

Very nicely done Dave. Love the evening light. I would have never got these results with ISO 1600 with my XTi. Congrats. I am feeling sorry for Chad been used by everybody as a camera support.

farmer Dave with crops....

Hey great shot... the optix seem good with the 2x.... a lot of guys don't like em, but i never had issues with em... you just have to have a real good tripod or be VERY steady handed. Looks like you have both ....

Good one Dave.

Dragons are not really birds. They are mythical reptiles. Flies ain't dragons. How can you shoot a mythical fly called a dragon that is not related to reptiles and is classified as an insect? I just don't get it!

Oh, nice shot of that mythical beast, Dave
