Anyone know how to uninstall the BETA for 2 on PC? I can't seem to locate the switch.
If on a PC, (XP) go to control panel and 'add/remove' and uninstall there. Just did it awhile ago. I haven't installed LR2 on my Vista laptop yet so will see there in a bit.
yea I just ordered it. I ahve been using Aperture 2 for a while because of local adjustments. I am excited to go back to LR since it runs faster for me.

Yep, I bet that's it. Why do you guys across the pond always get the shaft?
I bought in Denver a Tiffany necklace for the wife that in dollars would have cost double if I had bought the same piece back in the UK. So it does sometimes work in our favour - just not with the electronic "toys"
I take back any criticisms of Adobe. Just got this email
We are at the end of the Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2 public beta
program and would like to thank you for your interest. The Lightroom
team feels that building a community is an incredibly important part
of the application's development and you have distinguished yourself
by being among the top 50 beta participants to invite the most
friends to participate in the Lightroom 2 beta program. Please
accept this license for Lightroom 2 as a token of our appreciation:
Your serial license number is: ********* ()
This thank-you gift has only been provided to 50 individuals and is
the same license you would find in the Lightroom 2 box.
Also - thank you to all who asked me for an invite.
Wow! So what does it take to be a "top 50" beta tester? Did you use LR Beta for 12 hours a day or is it merely how many invites you've accrued? How do they track that?
I tried it again when I got home and the code worked. I got charged tax which even still I ended up getting it for cheaper than the list price for the updgrade.
It's hella nice and I love it's interface but it's definitely slower than the version 1.3 Going to have to upgrade the RAM to catch up.
Yes - they install in different directories. Don't think you will want to stay with 1.4 though
Upgrade Notes
•
To update your Lightroom 1 catalog simply launch Lightroom 2 and you will be able to select and upgrade your Lightroom 1 catalog.
•
The Lightroom 2 catalog upgrade process does not erase or remove your original Lightroom 1 catalog. If you wish to try the Lightroom 2 30-day trial by upgrading your existing catalog, you may always return to Lightroom 1.4 and continue using your previous catalog. Please note that any changes or work completed in your catalog once it has been upgraded to work with Lightroom 2 will not be available in Lightroom 1.
•
Upgrading a Library from Photoshop Elements 6 for Windows requires that Photoshop Elements be installed on the computer at the time of upgrade.
•
Lightroom 2 beta catalogs may be upgraded using the same methods available for Lightroom 1 catalogs.(You will see some variations in the local corrections applied to your images in the Lightroom 2 beta)
•
If you attempt to upgrade the same Lightroom 1 catalog more than once, Lightroom will inform you of the location of the previously upgraded catalog.
I was surprised to see them release this as soon as they did. It means they either stopped development 4-6 months ago or skipped QA completely. I'm betting on a mixture of both, but either way I'm also hopeful that it won't be the train wreck LR 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, and 1.4 were. I'll wait a while to see if LR 2.1 comes out in the next 2 weeks; or maybe I'll wait for LR 2.2 in September...
Sorry, but after the damage that program did the first time, I'm gun shy to say the least....
