p.1 #1 · Setting exposure level in TV & AV mode

Hello everyone,

I normally shoot manual with my 30D, but decided to use Tv mode today for a baseball game. In both Tv & Av modes, the exposure level indicator kept pointing to -1 2/3. Does anyone know how to set this back to standard (0) ? I tried scanning the manual for this but was unable to find anything.

Thanks in advance.

You mean the exposure compensation on the top LCD? Half-press the shutter to activate the meter, then use the thumbwheel on the back to adjust.

Make sure the On button is all the way up. If it is in the middle position it disables the rear dial

It also depends on whether you have set any special Cfn. If you are in the default Cfn then all the above are correct.

To add to the above: it's page 93 of the 30D manual (the section titled "Setting Exposure Compensation").

Thanks everyone. That did the trick. Not sure how I missed that part in the instructions either.

It's pretty easy to accidentally change this unintentionally. I normally now leave the on-off switch in its middle position so this does not happen.
