I have loved trees since I was very young, so even though I have been very busy I had to participate this week. The trouble for me is that there was so many ideas I wanted to try. In the end I decided to go with this shot. I love how this nearly ripe wheat is cut out of a lovely maple forest. Comments and critiques are most welcome.

Gorgeous, gorgeous shot, Steve! Beautiful compositon and color. My only itsy-bitsy critique might be that it could use a bit more pop. It seems a bit dull on my screen. Perhaps a levels adjustment? Bravo!

Thanks so much for your comments. Once again you have given me a good suggestion to make the shot better. I have tried to follow your advice in the new version that I have posted.

Thanks so much for your comments. I did try the levels tweak that you and Endre suggested and I think it does help the shot and allows the trees to play a bit bigger role in the shot. I really appreciate your advice.
Excellent shot Steve. The colour and detail in the maples really accentuates the glow of the golden wheat.
I had to chuckle when I first looked at your photo. My eyes immediately went to the horizon and looked for the Rocky Mountains. You must have been facing somewhat easterly.

Thanks for taking time to comment. I am glad the shot reminded you of Western Canada--I guess wheat does bring that association--but I am in southwestern Ontario, so there are no mountains here for a backdrop. Thanks again for your kind words.
