Tim, no actually just took these on vacation with my family. Although it was a bit of work to see the fireworks (had to park more than 3 miles away and hike with the gear and chairs, etc) it was really a nice event and well worth the effort.

I agree... well worth it. I'm glad you took the effort and reap the rewards. =o)
(2009-06-23) OK, time to dust off this old thread and see what new fireworks you'all have been able to capture in the past year, show once again, so us your fireworks!!
yeah, shivatron's picture has something mysterious about it. like you're watching a fireworks display from somewhere in late renaissance italy, way back before disney invented happiness.
Bloody hell!!! I was looking for infos on shooting fireworks last year just before NYE and I never thought about searching the gear forum!! Who woulda thought?
Anyway, some great shots here. A little suggestion, perhaps the OP can collate the info and post them in the first post?

I'd be happy to, n0b0...but someone's got to do the collating, pm it to me so it doesn't get buried in these posts, and I can put it in the first post as a quick reference for everyone. In otherwords, the collating of info. seems a bit of work which I prefer not to be responsible for, but if someone does that work, I'd be glad to place it in the first post to help out.
