Socrate, those are just sweet! Were you tossing dragons to them I am afraid that I would have almost just enjoyed the show in watching this activity. Great concentration on the shots, and wonderful BG's on a few of the munchers The scruffy first one is a great shot too!
Karl
Thanks, Karl. How did you know I was tossing dead dragonflies to the birds? I thought I had cloned my hand out. Actually that is what they do. They toss those dragons up in the air like a pizzadow.
BTW did you notice the perch? no more metal poles.

Wow, very awesome (and my daughter agrees). The first shot is so full of character, and the two dragonfly shots (3, 5) are amazing. Nice.
The last bird sure looks like a Little Blue Heron in the first stage of its life. The Snowy Egret would have black legs and blacker beak, plus the area around the eye is different.
Socrate, I always look forward to your posts as I know that I will be thrilled by what I see. No surprises here, these are all wonderful. 3, 5, and 7 are my favorites (though you don't make it easy to pick a favorite when you post so many fantastic images!).
Hi Socrate,
a great wildlife lover series - so much real time nature stuff captured. What a great observer with a camera!
And what a camera setup - you were shooting with effective 1,000mm focal length (in 35mm terms). That's quite a reach and the results are very pleasing. Well done! As usual
