Hey, nice composition... I really like the way you handled your theme. Looks like you put a lot of effort coming up with the image. The one thing that strikes me is that the ring looks highly photoshoped; the motion blur looks a little too done -- nothing is really in sharp focus and I kind of wish with the ring as the focal point that you would have stopped the motion on it with a faster shutter speed.

I may be completely wrong but it looks to me as if the key light for the shirt is coming from behind camera left and the key for the ring is coming from upstage camera right and the sharpness of the main shadow from it seems to indicate that it's really close to the ring itself.

I'm curious how you shot it... was the ring completely digitally manufactured or did you shoot it separately from the shirt and comp it in? If you did shot them together I'd love to see a lighting diagram because the way the light is falling is confusing me.

well thank you for your comments, the photo is shows pretty much out of the camera. I spent about 5 hours setting this up and about 200 photos later I got this.

only 3 lights were used, one light to cameras left just behind the shirt acting as window light with a gridded strip bank. Next was behind the camera just as fill with a med softbox. Last was a strobe with a snoot to focus on the ring. Only thing changed in PS was levels and slight cloaning on the floor (damn lint)

Nice, I'm really impressed that you took the time to do that all in front of the lens. I think a lot of people put too much emphasis on post production work these days. The snoot makes sense with the shadow the ring gives... maybe dodge it a bit so it's not so dark and sharp? Great work overall!
