I just finished developing two more rolls from my Samsung AF Slim Zoom. A roll of TriX400 and Catlabs 320 Pro, both shot at box speed and using the Cinestill DF96 monobath. Both rolls were shot back to back in the same light, however, the Catlabs negatives are super thin! The TriX400 looks super healthy. The negatives are both hang drying in my bathroom right now, but I’m already thinking that I’m going to have to work some magic during scanning and post in order to get those Catlabs shots to somewhere decent.

Anyone have any history with the Catlabs 320 Pro film? I have a hunch I’ll have to use another developer to get more acceptable results…that’s if I even pick up another roll (as that was my only one).

A couple with Contax G2 + G45 + P400. Clipped the side of the car on the road pic, or as Huss would say, "art".

When I shot catlabs 320 I have to expose it as an ISO 160 film to get good results. No issues w df96 Monobath, the problem is them calling it a 320 film.

For the full experience, first is driving on a major thoroughfare that has many more than two lanes. Secondly is holding the camera in one hand while steering with the other. Using a focusing aid is optional. Additional points for being on a hands free phone call or attending to your children simultaneously.

Roll 142: 2nd roll in Bessa II Heliar with Delta 400 developed in Rodinal. I had hoped to have fixed the issue with light leaking past the frame counter window, but no luck.

Thank you Huss! I guess I should have not shot it on my Samsung AF Slim Zoom then, as it read the DX code and set the ISO to 320…with no way to override it without taping over the code or something.

If it’s an annual rain dance held by the Joyous Redheaded Grandmas chapter, then that would be pretty normal.

Those photos would have been a whole lot better if that little CS 50 had been black paint...

For an actual question, when you're finished with the big bag of expired film are you going to keep over exposing a bit with fresh film? The images from films that should be considered junk have been great but that bag is going to run out eventually.

You can hack the DX code using the scrape and tape method as mentioned here and as discussed in detail on these webpages (also mentioned in the above post). It's not hard. I did it and it took about 5 minutes, scraping included! ;-)

Thank you! I’ll have to make use of that technique when shooting with my point & shoot. Especially so when certain films perform better at another ISO other than what the box says.

If you just cover the DX code w a piece of black electrical tape (my technique), the camera will default to ISO 100. I bet Catlabs 320 would look fine at 100.

By "attending to your children", madNBad means swiping blindly behind you at your kids with your right arm, while taking pics w the camera in your left hand, while trying to steer with your knee.

aka family road trip day 1, 20 minutes in.
