I tried to cut it nicer but after a few eggs, I gave up...
C&C are welcomed.
Happy shooting,
Yakim.

Yakim,
I think it's clever that you put it in an egg carton.
Nice DOF.
I might increase the contrast a bit.
Good luck!

Thanks for the remark but I'm afraid I am not very good at PP. Whenever I try anything more complicated than cropping or sharpening (DPP) it seems worse than I started. I guess I'm an old dog….
Happy shooting,
Yakim.

Hi Yakim,
Very nice use of depth of field and a great object to choose for this week's assignment. It makes a very compelling image. Good luck this week.

Thanks Steve. I hope this would be my first finalist. The level of the photographers participating here makes it difficult….
Happy shooting,
Yakim.

Yakim--Wonderful dof with the crate and nice effort with cutting it cleanly. I might increase saturation of color a it. Best of luck.--Frank

I'm glad that you like it but how do you do that in DPP?

Yakim.

Yakim--If you shot the egg in raw, DPP would allow a color saturation adjustment. If not, I think DPP allows some curve adjustments (aka contrast).--Frank

Contrast and saturation were boosted. Is it better?
In any case I'd like to thank you for the lesson. If you don't mind continuing it, in which other cases it is recommended to boost them?
TIA.
Happy shooting,
Yakim.

Yakim--I think the revision gives it a little more pop without blowing out the detail. Nice work.
As far as cases for boosting contrast and color are concerned, that is a preference matter and opinions differ greatly.--Frank Edited on May 27, 2008 at 05:50 PM
