I believe you did a good job with that fill flash, Anthony. It hardly shows in you pictures. About the red eye: don't touch it! That's the color of the RB''s eyes. (JK)
My favorite is the RBG, but they all have nice detail and very good lighting. Well done.
Socrate
Thanks Socrate, I tried to be a little selective with what shots I posted. I have a lot that have nothing but huge circles of white out. Yea the WP has some serous RED EYE
Funny stuff Socrate !! Thanks for the kind comments > Light was terrible so I was forced to try using Fill.
Nice ones there Anthony, did you have the woodies pose on that red board....so they would be true Red Bellies Super detail in these. I hope you brought some warm weather with you!
Thanks Doug > I brought the warm weather with me but I think the jet stream pushed it south Appreciate the comment Doug
I......O......W......A.............what's the hurry buddy, got the same problem with my 'good' computer but ordering parts for a new one as we speak!
I think the flash looks excellent, I do think you have a 'coolish' color cast as the reds are palish and more orange or pinkish in the case of the grosbeak. Other than that, the flash sure works well with eye detail.
Take care...............Karl
It's amazing how fast the technology moves. I bought this dinasour only a few years ago and now it's so freaken slow it has a hard time keeping up with todays larger applications / programs. I suppose that's why I left it back here in Iowa. Got the Fast PC in Cali ! I'll have to check the files when I get back to Cali for color casts.
OH and good luck on the new PC !!! Always fun to get new toys
I thought Iowa just had corn. Now I find out there's birds, too - wow! Curious bird you have there and very nice captures. It's always good to be home, isn't it?
How do we know these birds are actually from Iowa? They are probably more of your holdouts like that eagle!! Too bad you have rain, you should move to Seattle, bright sunny day here.
Nice shots Anthony, nice detail in these. I am a bit partial to the grosbeak.
Now just sit back and chill, stop harping on the computer, you are on vacation relax, slow down.
Your long lost brother,
Tim
Move to Seattle huh......... I'll have to think about that one. Thanks Tim and I really love the Grosbeaks > They're so colorful !!
No time to relax. I only get home twice a year, if I'm lucky. Lot's of yard work and then there's the Honey DO list
Oh and last but not least >> So glad I finally found you > Mom's been wondering where you been........... What should I tell her
Very nice Anthony! Love the red-bellied. FWIW, I find fill flash more useful on sunny days to lift the shadow areas. Overcast days let's me use available light with less worry about shadows. When you get back, let's talk about bringing some of those images over to my place for a PP session!
Hey thanks for the tip Ed. I wouldn't have thought about sunny day fill flash > Makes sense now Lookin forward to gettin together Ed. Should I bring the Steaks ? Iowa Beef is soooooooooooo much better than Cali beef. I should bring back a side of beef but don't have a deep freezer in Cali. I should be home in another week plus a few days. Thinking of stopping at Yellowstone first >> How about you ??
Nice series, wish we had these species here, they are just so cool!
Yea it's funny Laura > I have lived here my whole life. Didn't get into photography til about 2 years ago. I kept thinking I was going to come back to Iowa and have nothing to photograph. I had no idea what species would be here besides Cows, Pigs, Deer, etc etc
Saw a nice Osprey today but he was to far away. Saw a Coyote and a fox >> Uh to far away It'll be interesting someday when we move back here full time. Thanks for the comment Laura.
I thought Iowa just had corn. Now I find out there's birds, too - wow! Curious bird you have there and very nice captures. It's always good to be home, isn't it?
Yea Maggie the birds are attracted BY THE CORN
Yes it's great to be home. Just wish I could get back here more than twice a year.
thanks Maggie
