Hi all - I'm withdrawing my entry since I posted it early Wed. instead of by midnight Tuesday.
Wasn't really thinking much about it then... Maybe it's no big deal, but I want to honor the other FMers.
Great entries everyone! Good luck to all. ~ Carrol
Hey Carrol, it ain't over til the Fred lady sings...so to speak. As long as the assignment is open, and you think Fred will have time to notice your entry...then go for it. He obviously noticed it, and included it in the finalist. The thing that frosts some people is when someone pulls something out of their archives - instead of shooting for the assignment during the allotted time...which does vary in length. My archives of photos is easily six digits, but what fun is that...you want to get out there and give it your best fresh shot. That was a nice shot, and I liked it. Put it back up! That's my opinion, your mileage may vary...

Jim, (AKA: the FM member with my favorite profile Quote. )
Thanks very much for your input. Yeah, I never pull from archives. I love how the WA forces me to get out and do something fresh every week!
It's probably okay to leave it, but I'd rather "err" on the side of respect & fairness.
Thanks again Jim!

I have to agree with Jim on this one, Carrol. I would say that the WA and MA, for that matter, are open until Mr. Miranda decides to close the contest with his judging/jurying skills. In fact, you will notice that, when he has time, he will often change the closing date if he has not had a chance to look at the entries. The fact that your "Feed me" was designated a finalist by the board's moderator, IMHO, indicates that you made his deadline. There are last minute entries all the time at the MA, often well beyond the stated closing date. I certainly respect your honorable decision to remove your entry from contention, but I doubt that anyone would have had a problem had you opted to leave that cute puppy open to "public scrutiny."--Frank
i wouldn't pull your photo if I were you. Please bear in mind that the new topic wasn't announced until THURSDAY of last week which cuts down two days of shooting time if one is still trying to get it in by the deadline. I always try to abide by the final deadline, too, but if you get it in before Fred closes it (especially when he closes it late) it's totally fair.
Thanks Jim, Frank and Endre for your input! I appreciate it.
Given your comments (and Fred's) I'll go ahead repost the image.
(The dog WAS a bit disappointed that her internet debut had been cancelled.)
Oooooh no. Your post crossed with Fred's! Well, look at the bright side. Your broken link icon was beating my photo to pieces...how embarrassing - for me! Perhaps Fred will notice this and fix the finalist - again. If not - I expect some really super future entry from you to make up for this honorable falling on the sword.
