or what other choices of combo do we have?
No prime lenses for this combo thread. Leave the 18-200 out as well!
thanks!
I'm with others in not understanding this thread. You match the 12-24 with the 24-70 and then match the 14-24 with the 17-55 And why not primes? I'm a pro zoom fan myself, but I have and use primes to great effect ... and plan on getting more. My kit would not be complete without it.
So, what is you real question? What are you trying to figure out?
I like to see the most popular lenses and what I want the most for my wish list.
I got
D300
17-55
70-200
50 1.4
Had a 85mm 1.4 AIS sold it as I cant see like I used to
And my want list is growing
D3
14-24, 24-70, 180mm f/2.8, 30mm f/1.4, 85 f/1.4, 105 f/2.8 micro, 600f/4 dream on

If I'm gonna go to a photoshoot .. I throw a different bag in the truck consisting of the D300 with the 17-55 f2.8 and the D80 as backup with the 35-70mm f2.8 and the general purpose 18-135mm lens with the sb600 and sb800.
sortof a what.s in your bag question I guess .. enough I say for now .. though I.m on the fence over an over the top Panasonic video procamcorder dvx1000b something or other or a 200-400mm Nikon lens ..
In my typical travel bag:
D3+14-24+28-75(Tammy)+70-200VR+105VR+50 1.4+TC1.7
D200+10.5+12-24(Tokina)+17-50(Tammy)+80-400OS(Sigma)
D40x+18-200VR
I often replace a few lenses by some primes (35 1.4AIS, 85 1.8, 105 2.5AIS, 24 2.0AIS,...) and/or the F5+28-105 or 35-70 2.8.
