I have some really old Silver that I haven't looked at in a very long time. These pieces are very tarnished but very retro to me. Opening this egg shaped piece gave me a very big suprise as to the beauty still left inside. Its originally a piece that you open to put candy or other goodies in for a party. Hope you like. (Endre, I to have some cool stuff stashed away)

I like the second better, it goes with your story about it, the first one you can't really tell what it is, I would of used used more depth of field and got everything in focus something so pretty needs to be shown off. Good luck this week.

Norm, I did try exactly what you were saying. Problem I had was so many focal points to focus on that I found it difficult to get the right angle of it while not showing to much background. I to liked the second one, but clarity wise, the first I went with. Still torn. Thanks as always.

Steve, what a beautiful treasure, and photographed so nicely! Retrolicious! (I might have cropped a little more off the top on the first one to really focus on the detail of the central piece.)

Bev, Love the new words!! I see what you mean, but I only have a few minutes to make that change and can't get it in at this second. Guess it will have to do. Glad you like it.

I think the tarnish makes it so much more interesting. Nice job!

Fascinating shot, Steve! I like both shots for different reasons. Had it been my photo I think I might have backed off on the second one a little more so as to get the entire object in the frame. You then might have tried using a high aperture number like f 22 to get everything in focus. As long as you keep the light on your subject but keep the black background in shadow it should come out with a dark black. Either way, it's a very interesting photo. Good work.

All best wishes,

Endre

Endre, thanks for the tip. I didn't take much time with the shot as I only had like an hour to make it happen. I will have to try what you were saying because there were many times I didn't know how to make what you suggested happen. Its to late to mess with this shot but I will certainly remember for the next one. Thanks as always.
