What does this mean? "Tag"?!?!

There's a subscribe button at the top of each thread.

theres a discount beyond the 250 for the year ?

its 25 a month, or 250 for a year. My job pays for my subscription, and while I don't find a lot of it very high level, it's good to get me up to speed on certain apps that I've had to learn at my workplace (Captivate, Cinema 4D refresher, etc)

I've used the FCP class, indesign will be popular with my coworkers, which means I'll have to learn it, flash and dreamweaver are programs I already knew but it's good to have a refresher, quark I hope to never touch, and Illustrator I use on occasion because I am not an illustrator but do have to create schematic drawings at times

The instructors are a crapshoot. Some are excellent, kept me engaged (I have the attention span of a kitten), and almost entertained. Others left me feeling heavily medicated, as I struggled to stay awake. Content also varies from somewhat advanced to so easy you could have read an online tutorial for free.

I would say the value is there if you can find more than one application to learn. If you really only needed Photoshop training, then you might be better off investing that 250 plus dollars in something like Total Training or private tutoring.

BTW, none of the Lynda stuff, at least in my eyes, will make you a pro. It can get you comfortable with the application in the sense that you know the functions, but not the actually application of those functions. Basically speaking, reading an instruction manual for a camera won't make you a photographer.

Andy, even without a login, you can view what courses they have on what subjects.

Finally, if you have questions, feel free to PM me.

BTW, as a business, you should be able to write this off as well. Speak to your accountant.

Its new.

Lynda.com does not have any coupons for discounts. There are a few codes that will get you a free week, but thats all I ever found.

I really like Lynda.com, it isn't a professional or advanced educational program, but for getting you up and running its very helpful. There have been many times when I needed to figure something out, and a 5 minute video there gave me the answer. There also have been times when I THOUGHT I knew a topic well enough to skip, and yet still learned something useful. So don't ever assume a lesson will be review (however some are).

Here is a link for a free week which really helped me to evaluate what they had to offer. Some pretty good tutorials.
