Another one that drives me nuts - a page off the homepage that forces the browser window to maximum size - not desirable on a 30" display.....
YEAH! That one is irritating especially since I size my window to 800x600 for web design purposes, and then I have to go back and redo it.. carefully I might add since I have to drag my mouse to the edge.

I agree, but it's also annoying to go to a web site and the main page shows nothing except a button that you have to click to "Enter" the site.
I also have a problem with that in principle.. imagine if eBay, Google or Amazon did this-- had a splash page with little to no value or functionality-- they'd be out of business.

5. Eletronicky acid jazz soundscapes - you may think it's urban and sophisticated but everyone else thinks it's that 'annoying stuff they play in stainless-steel bars with names like 'HERE' full of media tossers with funky spectacles'.
HAHAHA "media tossers" you Brits have such funny phrases
BTW I love those acid-jazz trancey proggy house tunes. YMMV.
On the matter of the OT, I dont mind music so long as I can easily and quickly shut it off. Some sites do it to excellent effect; my wife certainly appreciates website music in the right context (baby portraiture site).
