Some shots here need noise reduction.
Noise?? The only noise I hear is my brain screaming at me to go work harder to get these kind of photos. The wren with the chicks could be on the cover of any wildlife magazine. Man, what a shot! Good on yer!!
Thanks so much for the encouragement; it is so kind of you
Dave, these photos are all taken in South-East Queensland. I took a lot of them at fraser Island, in the heath. Its a wonderful, cat-free, environment for small birds. If you ever have a chance to visit Oz, i can highly recommend this place. The birds are so curious and some will walk happily right up to your toes!
Steve, the red-backed wren is indeed very small. And yet he is king of his territory, and will happily tell you off when you get too close to his brood, lol. There is something special about being told off by a life-form about the size of your thumb
Many of your Australian birds make ours in the States look quite dull in comparison. My faves are the 2nd Honeyeater pic, the 1st Fairy Wren for its irresistible "cuddly" factor, and the excellent composition and colors of the Rainbow Lorikeet.
Thankyou once again for your positive comments! It really helps having some feedback, and I appreciate the interest our foreign friends take in Australian bird-life. I hope to have many more to show over the coming months
