p.1 #1 · Wildlife in Maine

My wife and I are going to Maine all the way from Alabama in July. We want to shoot some great wildlife and landscape shots. So far we have Acadia and Machias Island Puffins lined up. Can anyone be so kind as to tell us where specifically where to get the best wildlife shots like moose, fox, bear, and all the other good stuff. Thanks!

The two main(e) scenic areas are the mountains or the coast. Maine is a big area and once you're off I95 the big roads get a little sparse.

In the more mountainous area.

Baxter State Park is great, Moosehead lake area is stunning - Rangely area is nice too.

Has some good information. The lighthouse section is good.

Acadia itself will provide many many photo opportunities, but will be busy in July.

Wildlife-wise it can be tough to nail down a single location to see widlife here - though somewhere like Baxter would be a good bet (though maybe you'd want to hike to make the most of that). What I've found is that there's wildlife all over the place, until I'm looking for it Also you'll need to be prepared for some serious bugs in July.
