Just bought a LaCie 500GB D2 HD Sata2 drive as back up for my MacBook Pro. The drive has just arrived and only has a sata2 cable, which is a port the MBP doesn't have.
Is there a way round this (like an adaptor cable) or do I just have to accept my own stupidity and return the drive for a different model?
Just a caveat, I bought 5 Lacie Porsche drives and after two years of light use, 2 are dying, one is dead. They are used for archiving, stored in temperature controlled room and taken out a few times a year to access images. Needless to say, I haven't bought any more.
P.S. they were bought from different vendors over the course of a year. So I don't think it's a batch problem. I think it's a quality problem.
I've been reading this up in the last twenty minutes - it seems that a lot of these cards can be problematic. Can't be doing with complex IT problems, so I'm back to thinking returning it is best - thanks for your comments.
