It appears to be a fairly good year for the seasonal desert wildflowers this year, even though there was not a whole lot of rain, and what did fall all came at once. Still, It is working it's magic right now, as seen in these two images made along the popular Henderson Canyon Road near Borrego Springs, CA.
Hi Jeffrey,
I enjoyed them both! I had the good fortune to capture the wild flowers in DV this month and I found it equally amazing how with so little rain they can produce such lovely blossoms. The light and simplicity of the 2nd shot is so.....appealing.
Jeffery, the first one looks a little flat to me like maybe it could use a tweak on the black point. (or it's my monitor because it's been at least 90 days since I calibrated it) great scene regardless.
Nice colors in #1, but #2 is really special! I have seen similar shots, and always thought that view of a flower with the cracked dried up mud was cool, and you captured it very nice with that low angled light.
I love #2...boy those really make me miss the desert....I am originally from Palm Desert CA now living in San Antonio...those shots make me homesick for the great desert scenery.
