Al, I kinda figure it's like this... you know how you have met married couples that after a time they almost start looking like twins? Well, you guys are my family here, and so each of you guys have grown so much on me. I guess its quite natural we all start taking on similar characteristics...

Wow ..... I'm away for a week and a thread like this explodes on the scene!! Nice idea Ute, I know it's been done before but it certainly was high time we had a refresher.
I'm a civil engineer for a leading UK construction company. I'm an estimating manager and it's my job to win work. Winning work is easy of course - a cheap price usually does that but the trick is making sure the constructors can build it for the money I "give" them.
Here's a couple of shots of me:
#1 is me and my good lady (of 30 years!) dressed in our finery:
Very nice to see the faces of so many people who made me enjoy their beautiful images..
I am thirty and have a job at a bank.
Really had to search for a pic because I rather shoot the beauty around me than myself, but I found one.
Real fun thread!

Hi, my name is Adam Høj, 18 year old kid from Denmark (Europe).
I picked up my first camera when i was 15. It was my fathers Canon Powershot Pro 90. I loved it, but i missed some of the creativity in the camera. I always said to my dad, that i wanted I wanted a camera with that manual focus thingy.. So on my graduation day, from hmm, i not sure what it's called in english, but.. 9. grade, he said, that if i paided half, we could go buy a EOS 400D / Digital Rebel XTi. Eversince, i've been shooting. 2-3 weeks later the 40D was introduced, and I was really mad, because, for 400$ i could have bought that.. Darn!
I started taking more and more pictures, and finally bought the 40D, and sold my 400D.
Then one day at my photostore, I was allowed to try something, i never should have tried, the Canon EOS 1D mark 3...
Started budgeting... and bought it, and found out, that only my 50mm f/1.8 was usable, so i sold my 40D, and some lenses, and bought some L lenses. Darn it's nice. Then I had an offer i could'nt refuse.. a cheap (not stolen or anything!!!) Canon EOS 1Ds mark 3... Now, im 18 years old, and i shot everything....
That's me on Mt. Whitney last summer on the second-to-last day of a trans-Sierra pack trip from Crescent Meadow to Whitney Portal - snapped by one of my hiking buddies.
I've been a photographer since a very young age when my father loaned us various cameras and took us into his make-shift home darkroom to my siblings and me how to do chemical darkroom work. (I can still hear him telling us to "Move two steps closer!")
I continued to photograph, though I followed a different career path in another field and ended up as a college faculty member teaching music of various sorts. I've often felt that this was for the best as I could pursue photography as a passion rather than trying to make money at it. But the fact that I make my living something else makes me no less serious or passionate a photographer.
Much of my photography focuses on California since I've lived here since I was four years old. Subjects that especially interest me include central California, the Pacific coast, the Sierra, the California deserts, and urban California.
Yes, I blog. My photography blog, where I post a daily new photography along with commentary and news, is at http://www.gdanmitchell.com/. Links there will take you to my gallery and even to other blogs of mine.
