A truly captured moment..for myself anyhow.
Kinda had.."see the best in the world" thoughts today during the available light shooting in the Greek Orthodox church this morning...
Kept my eye in the viewfinder in this sequence, till the shot happened..
Your C&C of course is welcomed...
Thank you for the generous comments..
I used the 5D center focus point right on the boy..
24-70 2.8L
I rarely use this beast of a lens..but I have to start exploiting more and more...I just love it's ability.
Funny you say that..
I just his Dad that morning-but I never met his 2 boys.. (unbeknownst to me that I would see these two boys at church that morning with their Grandmother who I do know). I only realized that they were his kids because I saw them with my friend's Mom, so when I saw them in the altar boy gowns, I went for it..
I'm giving the parents an 8x10 of this one in colour and a few 5x7's of the two boys together. I didn't post the second boy.
I think they will be shocked at first and then be in wonder how is it that I happened to be there, when they were there, with my camera and how and why and then just ahhh..how sweet.
It's the first time the 2 boys dress in altar gowns and I mean, just the timing is unreal..

Hi Nektario - Thank you for posting this great shot, which captures the moment perfectly. Looks like you also had good lighting in the church - I'm curious as to how the image looks in color, given that the inside of Orthodox churches are usually very dramatic. Euxaristo kai pali. Spyros

Here is the shot in colour-Its cropped for an 8x10 print thouigh..and the heads of the two men get cut off http://img145.imageshack.us/img145/9106/img283navhi7.jpg
There was really not THAT much light in the chruch..but the 5D is sometimes amazing..
I have another great shot in the same church with the 20D and a ef35mm 2.0 lens on it..and the shot is quite amaizng as well...It's not always just about L glass giving you the best results.
What a wonderful image, one for the ages I think, it's just so great on so many
different levels. The lighting and composition is striking and just captures the viewer
so very nicely done!!
