p.1 #1 · Care to dance?

Haven’t posted here for a while & thought I would share these 2 images that I took this morning at Palo Alto Baylands (soon to be bird’s baby land with all the dancing going around! ). Taken with a 30d + 400mm f5.6L lens & Thanks for looking!

American Avocet in early morning "WooPee Dance"

No age limitation, just keep your eyes & ears open as there is a lot to hear & see specially during these spring days. Thanks as always, Dave!

Abby

Excellent set! I am going to be in the area in early May and I hope the Baylands will still be hopping then! Thanks for posting these!

#1 is a wonderful clear composition with good colours, deserving of a place in any fine educational book. It has a nice "birds and the bees" look.

I think the Avocets take it here. shot 2 may have been in the running but I think clipping the wings detracts from the capture.

Well done

Thanks everyone for the kind words & the Avocet is really special as I captured the whole mating ritual scene which I think was very interesting. On the other hand the Snowies was kind of a bit rough as they both just did it up in the trees. It’s still a bit slow at PAB but it’s picking up day to day & there will be a lot of more opportunities to capture these wonderful birds.

Cheers,
Abby
