I almost totally forgot the deadline for this MA. Unfortunately I fell into the trap many others have by focusing my attentions on the WAs.

Last minute concept, entry. Technology that's simple, and helps us live our lives is probably the most important to us. This medical marvel, insulin from human rDNA, has allowed me to live a seemingly normal life for many years. Before that I required animal based insulin, which worked but added challenges I no longer have to worry about.

A quick entry that needs much C&C. I might not have time to fix the problems or improve the image, but I wish to hear the C&C anyway. Fire away.

Hi Chad. I understand the challenges you face because my youngest son has been diabetic since he was thirteen (about twelve years ago). A frightening time for all of us but he managed the situation well from the start.

Now, as to the picture (and I am no expert) but regarding the composition, I would have placed the syringe diagonally across the other way pointing upwards. I think this might give it better balance. Am not very disposed toward the background colours (too distracting) and would prefer it dark and plain. Medical technology is a good choice.

Not sure I prefer the more sterile version, but I do agree the previous background was distracting and the new arrangement of the syringe looks more balanced. Tried a black background, it swallowed the needle (not enough contrast on the macro). Any other color background seemed too festive, I love high contrast images so I was left with a grey or white background.

This is my final entry, I'm off to bed.

Hi Chad,

Very nice shot as usual. I love the droplet you have capture and the over all sharpness and sterility of the shot. By the way my mom uses the same insulin and it certainly is a big improvement. Fantastic photo and good luck this month.
