I signed up for "Image Upload" a couple of weeks ago, but to date, I am not able to do that very thing. I am wondering if there is something that I am not doing, or need to click on, whatever. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Sorry for registering a new username, but I cannot login to my old username! Could you please look into this? I tried resetting my cookies and entire browser with no avail (I use Safari 3.0 with Mac OS X 10.5.4).
When in a Gallery, and you scroll to bottom of an index page and want to go to the next page ( "1,2...." links ), Clicking on the link for the next page (i.e. "2") does not work, it returns you to the same page you are on (though the links at the TOP of the page work properly). This has been going on for years.
Not a serious issue but the post count seems to have gone up the creek in some threads eg https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/674750 showing as single post but the thread has 15 posts. This seems to have only just happened.

Hopefully this issue is now fixed. If you see this happening again, please report.
Did not see this on the last two pages so I will post. The Email notifications are sending to the first page not the last one. The one I am getting as 13 pages and if I click on my email notification it sends me to the OP.
When you click on a topic, do a bunch of scrolling to the extremes (I have nothing better to do with my VX Revolution) and click back, everytime your rollover a topic, it turns gray.
Edit: Wasn't able to reproduce this a 2nd time, but it happens frequently.
A while back I fixed the thread updated email so that the link took you to the page in the thread on which the updating message occurred. Somebody has broken that code so that now it is always page zero. Quite annoying to always have to press the end link after loading the first page of the thread instead of going straight to the correct page. Also, that glitch will be doubling server load in many cases. Fred - email me if you want me to fix it f.o.c..

My pictures are all getting compressed.
I've tried all sorts of resizing, nothing helps. Let's try renaming the image..
Ahh, that seems to do the trick, I don't know why but the html defaults to 900 width.
I don't know if this was properly explained later in this thread, but I can tell you why this is happening. I am afraid that I am the culprit who wrote the code that does it. The site learns the sizes of images embedded in messages so that it can draw the page quickly even when there are many images hosted elsewhere which are slow to load. It allows you to go to the end of the page and read the last message without the message continually jumping downwards out of your browser window as images above load and reveal their true height. The problem you are seeing occurs when you change the size of an image on your server. FM has no way of knowing that you have done that. One day someone might get around to thinking a way around that, but for the moment the best solution is to change the name/url of your files, so that FM has to learn their size all over again. Sorry for the inconvenience, but the juddering page problem was worse, and really slowed down access to messages near the end of the page.

Scrolling down a forum, you find a thread you'd like to peruse. Instead of just clicking on the link, I Apple-click to open the thread in a new window rather than go back using browser buttons.
What happens is that the thread opens in a new window, but the forum window that you clicked from loads the thread, too, so you still have to click the back button. This happened when I first joined a few months back, then stopped & worked properly shortly thereafter. Since the upgrade it's doing the same thing.
Problem repeatable in both Camino (1.5.4) & Safari (2.0.4) on Mac OS 10.4.
Would also be nice to have a "It's been XX minutes/hours/days since you last visited" (a la POTN) notification somewhere for one reason: It would be nice to know how far back into the classifieds I'd need to go to get to the posts that had been added since the last time I was on.
I didnt go back more than a couple of pages to see if someone brought this up already. Its been a while since Ive participated here, and one thing I noticed today bugs me. I type all of my posts in Word Perfect, mostly for the spell check, then paste it into the posting box when I'm satisfied with what I have written. I do this no matter what forum Im posting in, but now when I do this at FM, and I use the apostrophe, the apostrophe is replaced with weird characters, and I have to go back and edit the post several times to fix them all. Sometimes, just replacing the apostrophe isnt enough, and I have to retype the entire word. Im not going to replace any of the apostrophes in this post so that what I am describing can be clearly seen. I just hope this post can be read.
Is there a way to fix this? It's really time consuming to go back and fix every apostrophe in every post. By the way, I'll fix the apostrophes for this sentence only.
Gary, do the apostrophes look weird when you paste them? Probably has to do with different encoding schemas. This box is expected purely ASCII, but if you are using a weird font in WP, the apostrophe may be converted to some non-ASCII extended character. Try a different font, like a fixed font a la Courier.
