Scrolling down a forum, you find a thread you'd like to peruse. Instead of just clicking on the link, I Apple-click to open the thread in a new window rather than go back using browser buttons.
What happens is that the thread opens in a new window, but the forum window that you clicked from loads the thread, too, so you still have to click the back button. This happened when I first joined a few months back, then stopped & worked properly shortly thereafter. Since the upgrade it's doing the same thing.
Problem repeatable in both Camino (1.5.4) & Safari (2.0.4) on Mac OS 10.4.
Would also be nice to have a "It's been XX minutes/hours/days since you last visited" (a la POTN) notification somewhere for one reason: It would be nice to know how far back into the classifieds I'd need to go to get to the posts that had been added since the last time I was on.
I don't think this is a bug so much as possibly an oversight. I just posted an ad in the B&S and forgot to say "WTB" so it went to "FS". I couldn't change it in edit mode so I had to delete and start over.
Can we make that field editable too, and possibly add a "sold" option in the drop down and that could be used when the transaction is completed?
The last thing, it would be great to be able to see only the WTB, FS, etc. perhaps a check box that limits the result set to what the user wants. Maybe? Possibly? Someday?

Hi James,
I believe we should be able to edit our first posts and change the FS/WTB/FT/OA initials. The default it indeed "FS". On the "Sold" idea, I'm thinking on adding a "Sold" button. When we press this button, the thread would look grayed out on the board page (And Sold would be added as an initial)...Still thinking about this one...
Regarding being able to see all WTB, FS, etc...That is a good idea. Right now you may be able to do that by using "Quick Search" on the bottom of the page. For example, if you enter "FS" or "WTB" for the subject search, you will see all topics on that.
I'm using Firefox. I've seen it happen with both FF2 and FF3 beta 4.
I am using a special plugin that specifically breaks URLs on FM. Should I disable that?
Perhaps it is something odd that happens only on my end which is why no one else has brought it up. I'll check in IE next time it occurs.

I've got a problem searching. I'm looking for "T&I" posts (team and individual, the posed youth sports stuff) but a search on "T&I" (no quotes) turns up nothing. Instead, I have to search on "T & I" (note the spaces), which gives me some posts, but when I try to go to the second or third pages, I get a "search string too short" message.

Okay, it's happening right now on the Landscape board, but not the Canon board. Hopefully you catch this message in time to see it in action, Fred.
Ariel,
Check and see if your issue has been resolved.
Please let me know.
Fred
I did a search (using Google the Forums), clicked on my chosen link, and all that popped up in the new URL was a drop down menu asking which of the following topics did I want to merge?
There were about 10-12 topics, none of them (that I could recognize) were my own. I probably should have taken a screen cap and saved the URL, but it slipped my mind.

Thanks for letting me know Jonathan. This is now fixed.
I wish once a few posts were added to a topic, that we could still go back and delete our older ones.
i just wanted to correct a post, but seeing that I had inadvertntly made a second post, I wanted to delete a post, because of a line that I added in the next(correct) post.
Looks like my(our) only option is to just change the incorrect post, and leave it, and the 2nd/3rd, ect there.
Posted a "bump" on Sunday...never appeared in B&S at all at beginning of list. I did have a post that was a "sent pm" within 7 hours of my bump so does this eliminate my daily bump?

Hi mdbassman,
Your topic didn't go to the top because of a 60-day restriction...(Replied topics older than 60 days do not go to the top of the page)
The topic was created early February. So it can’t go to the top of the first page anymore (and no bump button).
I'm creating a FAQ for the Buy and Sell board since many new features were already added and many new ones will be implemented this month.

This might be the same, I posted something for free on the freebie thread in B/S and it still is at the 3 days old mark.
Thanks
Same here. The thread in question is older than 60 days (Freebies). The OP (You) can't make the thread go to the top by replying to it. However, if someone other than the OP replies, the topic will make to the top.
I hope this helps.
Best,
Fred

Thanks Fred, any chance to make that a sticky?
Yes, I will make a sticky explaing all Buy and Sell changes along with a big FAQ with images, etc...
New changes on the pipeline:
1) OP can't edit the initials "FS, FT, WTB, OA"
2) We will have a "Sold", "Traded", or "Bought” button" showing next to the topic title (Showing for the OP only). When clicking on this button, an initial will be added before the title. For example: "Sold: Canon 5D" or "Traded: 24mm f/1.4L". The topic will be locked and its link will turn "gray" in viewboard,. Like that, member can easily identify which topics are already Sold, Traded or Bought...(For FS, FT or WTB respectively)
3) Feedback system. Members will be able to leave feedback to other members. The current feedback thread will be migrated to this new system (As much as possible) and then locked or deleted.
4) You probably have seen the Bump button and counter (They are located next to the subscribe button). You must be the OP to see that. Basically the OP can only bump his topic every 12 hours (Meanwhile a counter will show how many hours left until the Bump button reappears)
5) Members can only post a NEW topic on the Buy and sell board, every 12 hours.
