The aboriginal people of Australia were one of the few early races that did not have/invent the bow and arrow. However, they did give the world the first throwing stick, now known as the boomerang. The great advantage of this missile was that you had a second chance if you missed your prey or enemy first time round. The boomerang employed technology way before its time.

Great shot! I understand that there are actually two types of boonerang; one returns and the other does not; it is used to bring down birds, the technique being to frighten the flock inot the air, and then throw the second type, which clims straight up, into the midst of the flock?
