Wonderful photos of birds I've never seen before. Nice focus on the eyes. I really like the jay.

I have lots of feeders and water and the garden is kept pretty wild to attract the birds and wildlife ( well thats what I tell the wife )

Unfortunatly the abundace of birds some times results in me losing one of the flock ( taken though upstairs double glazed window in bad light ).

A better picture of the culprit sunning himself after missing a sparrow.

Tree Sparrows, Jays and Reed Bunting in your garden! I have to travel to my local reserve to see the last two and I wouldn't know where to start to find a Tree Sparrow... so I've just put all the garden implements on Ebay.
I like them all, but you've captured the distinctive red eyes of that male Sparrowhawk perfectly. Hope to see more of your shots in the future.

Thanks for all the positive response guys.

Brendon very nice.
What is your setup?

I have made a small hide ( Shed ) in the garden and use Nikon bodies D70 D80 D200 I am hoping to sell the D80 and Bigma 50-500 to get a D300.

My main lens is a Sigma 500mm f4.5 with a Nikon TC14E 1.4x works fine and still autofocuses fast. Manfrotto hide clamp.

Brian :

I am very lucky as I live about 200m away from a small woodland area so the Tree Sparrows, Jays and Reed Bunting come over here a free feed, I even had this little chap turn in the garden on Monday, a first for my garden

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a95/ian_macdermott/Birds/P1010829copy.jpg

I work from home and my "office" ( back bedroom ) looks out over the garden so I keep a camera handy.
