Maybe a Bush Hawk isn't such a good idea after all......
Police investigating report of gunman at Sheridan College
OAKVILLE, Ont. — Halton Regional police are investigating a report of a man with a long-barrelled rifle at Sheridan College.
Police received the report from a teacher at the Trafalgar campus in Oakville, Ont., through school security at about 2:15 p.m.
The campus was locked down as officers searched the whole school, letting people leave as each classroom was cleared and police say there is no public safety risk.
One man was taken into custody early in the investigation, but after being questioned, detectives determined he was not involved.
Sergeant Brian Carr says police are reviewing security footage to determine the identity of the man the teacher saw and if in fact he was carrying a gun.
Sgt. Carr says no guns have been found, no shots were fired and no one was injured.
Apparently, the long-barreled rifle was thought to be a tripod. I think the OP was suggesting that a Bush Hawk might not be an appropriate camera support in an urban environment, especially if one is wearing camouflage clothing.

Ontario college shaken by report of gun
OAKVILLE, Ontario, Feb. 8 (UPI) -- A college in Ontario, Canada, was locked down for two hours Friday afternoon after a professor mistakenly reported seeing a man on campus with a shotgun.
After spending two hours searching the Sheridan College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning campus in Oakville, police concluded that the professor had probably seen a man carrying a video tripod, the Toronto Star reported.
Robert Turner, the Sheridan president, said that officials watched a surveillance video of the mystery man and came to the same conclusion as the person who reported him. The man was wearing camouflage clothing.
Erica Eng a 22-year-old journalism student, said that she spent two hours locked in a classroom with five other students sheltering under a desk. Students watched reruns of "Family Guy" to relieve boredom and tension.
During the search, police detained a man who matched the description of the person they were looking for. He was released after brief questioning.
