So I just went live with yet another "new" site. I have had, in the past 2 years, three bludomain sites and have had a lot of luck with them. However I felt it was time to move on.
So please check out my new site done by the awesome team over at LiveBooks. From Jon my sales rep, to Corrie my designer, to Bert my tech guy who is helping me right now with getting my BLOG up and running (you'll notice that link doesn;t work)...these guys are amazing. You pay a little more, but hands down the customer service alone I feel is worth it...and the site is beautiful.
I'm saving up for a LiveBooks myself, much cleaner and nicer than Blu.
You BLOG link doesn't work.
Questions: How was the design process? What was it like working with the designer? Which package did you go with? What is the admin backend like, is it super easy to change like Blu?
Overall I really like it. Nice background textures, beautiful pictures, and easy to navigate. The only thing I dislike is the moving thumbnails beside each gallery. I hate chasing those things around trying to click on the photo I want. Other than that, the site looks great!
Ok, so some small quirks...
-When you're on the Home section and click on Clients, the music stops unexpectedly. Sometimes, when you click back on Home, then it starts back up again without any manual intervention. I'm assuming this is by design more then likely.
-Transitions between sections aren't smooth and photos just *blink* appear. Can they smooth them in after the load bar finishes?
The site is working fast for me on cable connection.
As far as a blog, when you type in www.perspectiveye.com, it takes you automatically to your Wordpress blog (hello world). So you end up at blog.perspectiveye.com
BTW, what made you choose Wordpress? I'm considering a blog but don't know the differences in the options out there.
I've always read your posts and have always appreciated your work. I just went through the site and was consistently wowed. I really love your style. I mean, REALLY. The site looks awesome. Keep up the great work.
Is there a way to direct your old domain to go to your new one? Try doing that if you still own the old domain...Your hosting company should be able to do that for you.
This way when I go to perspectiveeye.com, it will take me to your new site.
I had your old site bookmarked and was wondering what happened until I saw this thread.
Going between "Pricing" and "Engagement" looks awkward, as one's just a cropped blurred version of the same photo. I think, from your incredible body of work, you could find a better photo for pricing (especially since thats one of the first photos many clients will see). Just my two cents -- I've got to give you a hard time, since you've set the standard so high.
Love your work. The site was slow for me. We are on half the speed of the U.S with broadband but i don't usually have a problem with load times.
The drop down menu for portfolio is a different shade to the rest of the site.
I also had a problem with the blog link.
The drip i hate, sorry. It reminds me a little of the flying letterbox of days long gone.
I agree with others here about the quality of your work, your reputation for being first rate is well earned amongst your peers here.
I think the site is almost there but for those few things it is to my mind not yet on par with you usual standard.
