Very nice shots, I noticed something in the water by the Cardinal. I see the fence post and barb wire, I wonder if someone at some time crossed the fence and lost an item. Great series on the 1.4x. I see you also used manual white balance, white balance and exposure are still one of my greatest weaknesses.

Sweet series, Dave. The Redbird is in an especially fine pose. Johnny B. was down here and we went out taking pictures yesterday. No cats for sure. He will absolutely love the hairball remedy and might even have some already. Very cool.
Great series and presentation Dave. I really like #3 and #4, the barbed wire in #4 adds an interesting element to the picture. OK, I'll break down, great job on #6 too!

Another great series by DAVE. A really good idea showing the photos both cropped and uncropped. I have looked at each of them about three times so I can see the difference. Thanks for the extra effort.

Thanks Roger. I think it's a good idea to sometimes show the original frame.
We can all learn more that way.

Dave, I especially like the Mockingbird - they have great eyes. Sorry your McSparrows are gone, but now you're forced to get out there in the jungle. Nice set
Thank you Ms Maggie. McD lost me as a weekend coffee drinker.
Back to the jungle is a good thing though

Hey Dave... these are really nice. I love the Cardinal down by the water... something you never see. Your shots are all very well executed. And.... it's nice to see green outside... man I hate winter.
Terry
Appreciate the comments Terry....it's not quite as green here as you may think.

These crops show all your ability, Dave. You don't get such fine detail in heavy crop if you don't do shoot them right. Very nice shots, with # 5 being my favorite.

Thank you sir. Very much appreciate the comment Socrate.
I have found the Canon 1.4 to be sharper than my long used Tamron 1.4

Love the Mockingbird, Dave. I am so surprised by the Cardinal in the water--would never think that you would find one in that situation.
Cats are OK too.
Thanks Bonnie. I saw cardinals by the water again this morning

Very nice Dave. Love the Cardinal shots. They're all good. - warning about Ferel Cats, that's funny!
Thank Mark. Hope JB sees the hunor too!

Lovely shots Dave & showing both sizes is great. So easy to get lost & not know crop. I had a black cat like the one you have in shot # 7. His name was Lord Brett Sinclair from a TV series with Tony Curtis & Roger Moore way back when I was a young girl.
Can't pick a favorite - - maybe the Cardinals....
BTW, again - thanks for the support the other day. I've really lost my will & almost feel like just giving photography up. Hopefully I'll be better in a few more days.
Lil
Thanks Lil.....we sometimes get a bit "down", but the joy one's self gets from photography and just being out....outweighs anything elase
Nice shots Dave, does the canon 1.4x retain the AF? The shots certainly seem sharp with the TC on! I actually got some hand held TC practice the other day, hard but a challenge.
