I think this is a Red Cockaded woodpecker. Sorry about the heavy crops. I was in Jones Forest (north of The Woodlands Texas) . There is a colony of these birds there . I've been there before many times but never have seen one of these. In March , they will start to nest. Hopefully I will be able to get closer . Also thinking about renting a 600.Once again I apologize for the I.Q.
