I took this on a stopover in the Dominican Republic in the rainforest near Samana. These children were selling coconuts and the skies opened up just as were passing by. It just got me to wondering if their life is actually simpler, more complicated, or just different?

While on the subject of 'simplicity', I left the DSLR and lens collection at home and made do with only a point & shoot rig (Canon SX100) and the very basic Canon HF-DC1 slave flash. In retrospect, feel I made the right decision for me.

Jeff, I like the simple things in life and I think this picture captures that. I like the way rain is captured. Very cool.

Jeff, I love this image, too! It's something I'd never see...a simple moment in the lives of children in a far different part of the world. Thanks for sharing.

(There are times when I like using my P&S, too.....just because it's simpler.
