I hope to graduate (?) from a PC to an iMac Computer shortly. I am currently using BreezeBrowser and Lightroom as my tools but I believe there is no Mac version of BreezeBrowser available.
Would some Mac users kindly guide me towards their preferred browser(s) ?
Best wishes to all for the New Year,
David.
I use Bridge for photo review, if that's what you're referring to as "browsing". If you're talking about internet, it'll come with Safari. Between Safari and Firefox, you'll be set.
If you use lightroom and will be using lightroom on the iMac, why would you need another application to "Browse"? Seems like a needless complication when you can browse in lightroom.
Because you can't really "browse" from LR -- you have to import the photos. Same with iPhoto.
If you just want to flip through a folder of images, select the files and press the spacebar. That starts Quicklook on Leopard and will display the images.
iView is another option but it's kind of expensive.
There are others but I can't think of them. I use Quicklook or Bridge to browse.
As previous posters have said; you got LR for the Mac, also there's Bridge (which sometimes is useful, but a bit of a drag as well). I've enjoyed iView Media Pro for the last few years. It's brilliant However, now that it's been aquired by Microsoft and incorporated in their strategies for asset management, I'm not quite sure how it will evolve. Worth checking out though.
I used iView before it went to Microsoft, and now use the new Expression Media (iView repackaged by Microsoft) at work. I hate Microsoft, but iView hasn't been changed much by Microsoft. Still stable and works with Mac. You can learn more about the transition here.
If you are planning to upgrade to Microsoft office 2008, you can buy Office 2004 now (before 1/14) and get a free Office 2008 that comes with Expression Media. I got the student version when there was a rebate, so my total cost was $50 plus shipping for Office 2008 and Expression Media, but $150 for Office 2008 and Expression Media is still a good price (if you're a student).

I tried to figure out what they (MS) had changed since the take over, but apparentely they want me to install something called Silverlight just to watch what they want to show me about Expression on the web. It feels so -97 with all the "missing plugin" stuff that went on back then. In the end just couldnīt be bothered...
"Because you can't really "browse" from LR -- you have to import the photos. " Well to browse from any other program you would "import" the photos to the Hard Drive, so just import to LR and browse away (delete as needed).
There's a pretty nice freeware called JView, http://home.nc.rr.com/jview/jview.html . It doesn't do a thumbnail grid view, but it is fast, views RAW, and has full keyboard controls. Worth the price at least .
