Wow -the "micro zoo" of critters that it takes to break down organic waste is amazing! That second mite shot is excellent -I seem to have a difficult time focusing on very reflective abjects with the Xti (the view finder is too dark).

coder- yes I rather liked that springtail - it was a pity the springtail decided to spring before I could complete the stack and get the aerial in clean focus.

Those mites aren't too bad (they hardly move) but like damp leaves etc they tend to be highly reflective.
