Hi, does anyone know how to get Lightroom to display current file size in the library grid cell? If you right on a cell and choose 'megapixels' to be displayed, it just shows you the original file size, not the current file size.
The file size will not change until you export it. Then only in reference to the exported file. When you crop in the Develop Module, it offers the preview after the crop is made but makes no reference to the output file size. AFAIK.
Well ... for one, you havn't actually changed the file size, just the aspect ratio/visible portion of the image. Whatever the original file size was on your disk is still there, the only thing that has changed is the viewable portion of the image. Say you crop to 5x7 aspect ratio, the part of the image that is cropped out is still there, you just can't see it unless you are in the crop tool in the Develop Module. When you export the image that portion cropped out will not be exported. You could always set a color lable for size or apply your crops to a virtual copy.
Better yet ... visit this forum and ask your question. There are some heavy hitters over there and they may have a better explanation. (Or the correct one )
When you sign in ... make sure to fill out your computer info, OS, LR version, etc. in your profile Since LR is on both major platforms this helps in answering your questions.
