p.1 #1 · Blue-tailed Bee-eaters at Bolgoda Lake…..
Last weekend I wanted to get further practice with my new lens 400mm 5.6 and visited the Bolgoda Lake to get some Brahminy Kites (small eagle) in flight. This was my 2nd outing with this lens. Unfortunately I couldn’t get hold of any bird after exploring my usual places for couple of hours. Finally decided to head back home and on my way thought of taking a different root where I haven’t been. Came across these Blue-tailed Bee-eaters and they were busy capturing insects on a nearby tree by the Lake.
Appreciate comments, critiques and any shooting tips.

Beautiful shots, Jude. Your work has really improved lately. Your shots are cleaner and with sharper detail. Your composition skill is improving as well. I like them all in particular the second shot where you can se the front and the back of that beautifulbird: Beautiful wing display in # 5, and 6. Thanks for sharing,
Socrate

Everything comes together in #3, Jude, the perch and bird positioning are exquisite. I would have toyed around just a touch with the eye area in order to bring it out just a bit more. Great looking bird.
