Looking to upgrade my ageing Spyder with something that will do a better job on my LCD's I have been trying to read up on the newer hardware. Somehow it seems impossible to reach a definitive answer on which is best (i.e. around ~$200-300). Can anyone here give me some good, reliable information on what to get?

And is the supplied software good enough or should I go for Color Eyes soft?
I've owned the X-Rite i1d2 and the software package that comes with it is fine (nicely implemented) ... very easy to use and complete. I've used Color Eyes and didn't notice any benefit over the i1d2 Macth3. i1d2 is a good system ... I upgraded from it to the i1 Photo SG. I briefly owned the Monaco XR/DTP94 and found the software inferior to Match3. But, puck has good reputation. I haven't used the Spyder3.

I got this 1 week ago and very happy with this so far.
the only unhappy thing is irrelevant to i1 d2, my cheaper crappy monitor -DELL 2407WFP won't do much better after any calibration(I learned only 8bits or higher LCD monitor with independent video chip could benefit as much as it could from these calibrator).
I recently stepped up from the original Spyder to ColorEyes Display Pro. Little more expensive but a terrific software package. I needed something to take care of the overly bright monitor on a 24 inch iMac ... thrilled with the results. I don't think you would be disappointed with it.
Although I made the transition just before Spyder3 was announced. It looks like a rather good package as well.
Also looking at the Spyder3, I recall coming across a link for an upgrade price from Spyder2 to Spyder3, does anyone have that link? I did a search but could not find it. I am curious to know if I can get a deal on an upgrade from Spyder2 express to Spyder3. WebDog I hope you don't mind this post... it is related
