The new version definitely works better... I might try experimenting with lighting a bit more, to emphasize the subject

Hi Bill! I have enough ornaments to decorate 3 or 4 giant Christmas trees, all neatly stored because no one visits here during the holidays. Instead, I go to the kid's, so it just doesn't make sense. (It's also very hard to put up a large tree by one's self.)

Someday my granddaughter and niece will have them, but I think I'll keep this one bowl of 'pretties' out this year. They're so pretty to look at. (Minus the egg, of course.)

So much better. I thought the crate it was in became very distracting and dull. This one is very nice. Great colors, nice lighting, you know, the usual..........Nice just like you!!

I like the compartmentalization of the first shot. It shows the separation (yet togetherness for the "Out of Place" theme) of holidays you have represented. I also like your second shot mingled together. The colors are so rich! Did you do any additional saturation or pp?

Thanks, Steve, my friend! That 'crate' was just a little cardboard box, but at that size it did look a bit massive, didn't it? I'm so glad you like my second take! You're the nice one!

Hi Jamie! Thanks so much for looking, and for liking both of my images. That gives me encouragement, which I always need.

Most of my PP was done with Fred's PhotoShop plug-in, Velvia Vision, (everyone should get it!) and the rest was hours of tiny little fill in dots of color on those vintage ornaments. Seen at actual size with the human eye, they didn't look so bad, but once photographed and enlarged, hundreds of little 'age spots' were visible, and I knew they'd be distracting.

I so appreciate your compliments, and the question. I'm usually the one asking questions around here!
