Due to overwhelming opinions that the box in my original was a bad idea (and I agreed!) here's my second attempt at the same basic concept. If anyone wants to see the original (with the ugly box) I'll post it at the end of this thread.

What do you think now? (Sure hope ya'll come back and give me more input.)

Love the colours, love the idea, not sure about the box, maybe on the tree or some fir branches might work.

Hi Philly,

You have wonderful colors in this shot and I like the idea a lot, but agree with Mark that it might work better on the tree or with some boughs. I also like the contrast of the pastels of the egg with the deeper colors of the Christmas ornaments. Good luck this week,

Thanks, Mark and Steve,
I used the box the ornaments are stored in and had to get them out of storage. I haven't actually put up a Christmas tree in years because I'm always out of town for the holiday, so I won't be re-shooting with fir branches or boughs.

I'll think of something, though.

I'm glad you like the idea of it, anyway.

I really like this shot, and I think it is a better than the first one that was good already. There are a couple of hot spots you might consider cloning out, but for this subject I don't really mind them and they may in fact add to the shot. As usual you have submitted a very compelling entry for the WA. Good luck this week.

Hi again, Steve! I'm glad you agree with Nick. I thought about the hot spots, too, but when I cloned them out, the ornaments looked dull and old....and not in a good way.
They're antiques, after all, so I decided a little bit of shine was fair.

From a humor standpoint, I liked the first shot better. It made me think of pulling boxes out of the garage and discovering the egg. Thanks for posting...

Thank YOU for posting! It was actually fun to get the antique ornaments out even though they weren't going on a tree. Almost made me reconsider. Almost.

Hi Amy! Thanks so much!! That means a lot coming from you. I took over 100 shots of those darn ornaments, and left the set-up overnight, totally forgetting about the egg! It wasn't even hard boiled, so now it's got to go straight into the trash, but it sure was fun to shoot.

No doubt in my mind the second one is the one for me still love the colours and the theme is just perfect for this time of year.
