I'll assume the pocket with the 1 series has some anti dust feature..can't believe they didn't show it with the cover on. The chair feature looks ok if you don't want to get up in a hurry, but otherwise an expensive vest.
Well, the chair is definitely corny... I get into a lot of weird postures when shooting, but sitting is pretty rare. Besides, what good is a field chair without a beer holder?
As a contract biologist, I've worn lots of field vests. With all that weight in the front, and nothing to counter-balance it in the back (a backpack pocket would be a useful replacement for the chair (and a good place to pack the beer)), it will not be comfortable. Vests heavily loaded in the front, with nothing to counter-balance in the back, always want to creep forward off the shoulders. Those True North packs were designed by a bunch of FS firefighters who were tired of vests.
and it looks like the when the chair is folded up it still sticks out below the waist line which would make it pretty uncomfortable to sit down without the seat deployed.
what is needed is one of our bag makers to embrace the molle attachment system so that certain tactical vests or similiar can allow for custom arrangements of gear pouches. i have already started to use this type of vest system and it has proven to be far superior in its comfort and adaptability. its relative sizing adjustability allows for seasonable fitting for the most part and reduces swinging vest syndrome.

MOLLE gear adds up in weight. The storage alone could easily weigh over 10lb.
I bet you could make a nice customized bag out of this... this
There's also the newswear vests. I'd take one of those over this adventure vest thing anyday.
the traditional molle attachments have been replaced with polymer ones and the weight difference is substantial. maxpedition and 5.11 each have their own but fit the molle system. my vest empty is less the 5lbs loaded with pockets that i generally don't use empty. it customized every time i use it. no pocket remains unused or its off. everything has a base weight. very few of thes vest makers give one. accessorize and it adds up quickly.
