......Can Get You Lost. I don't think magnets affect GPS units, but they do require batteries and orbiting satellites. Taken this morning.
Thanks
-Nick

Hi Nick,

A great idea and I really like this composition. The old compasses are really interesting and putting them on the map is a great idea. Nice work.

Hi Steve,
Thanks for the comments. I was hoping the compasses pointing to different dirctions was obvious. I hurried to get this together before someone else had the same idea.

Hi Nick,

I did notice them pointing in different directions and I think that definitely adds to the image. Sorry I didn't mention it. Good luck.

VERY clever take on the theme this week Nick....You've included the magnet doing something out of the ordinary. Using 2 compasses was a great idea. I like your mix of colors, general composition and details
Great job
Peter

Thanks Peter,
I was going to try and capture a paper clip in mid air being attracted to a magnet, but went with this simpler to execute shot. Recognize the map?

Great minds think along the same lines I guess Nick. I wish I'd had one of your vintage compasses for my entry. Nice capture!

Great concept and execution !
I don't know if a more "universal" magnet exists (took me few seconds to realize it was one because of the color I think).

Congrats,

Julien

Hi Rob,
Thanks, I figured that someone else would think of the same thing. I'm happy the compasses appear to be old, but in reality they aren't; they're problably less then 10yrs old.

Hi Julien,
Thanks, yes I agree with you about the magnet. If I had red horse shoe I would have used it. I went with what I had, else I bet some would have beat me to it. Perhaps I should add a "N" and "S" to each end? Your comments make me really happy I didn't use the a very small but strong rare earth magnet I have. It's just a small shiny cube.

Nick,
Yet another tangent on the theme, thumbs up.
Nice to see you out here, may the force be with us.

Dan... When will the poles flip?

Hi Dan,
Thanks. I don't know when the poles will flip, maybe soon? The last flip was 780k years ago. I hope not in my life time. It can't be good for life as we know it when it does.

I don't think that is necessary. I just for the really first look. I got it right after two seconds
Yes you did right not to choose something rare like your small shiny cube I think .

Excellent shot Nick. I think it’s better that the magnet’s polarity is not marked because it’s clearly indicated by the compasses.
The complementing map colors beautifully balance the picture.
Good job!

Nick

Great idea... and nice props too. Hope the magnet has not ruined the compasses for good

My only comment is the yellow cord on the right..catches my eye and is slightly distracting.. just my pennies worth.

Great picture otherwise..good luck
H
