The goblet in this picture did actually originally belong to my great great grandmother. I tried to capture the reflection of the past through the multiple reflections of my gradmother's hutch in the goblet and even the wine is a "relic" as it is old and full of sediment. It is also meant to reflect the women in this line of my family--Shiny on the outside but full of murky secrets. C & C are welcome.

Hi Steve! This is just me, but I think the goblet would be better showcased if it weren't on the striped table top. The lines, and the reflections, distract me, as well as the shadow to the left of the base.
It's such a lovely piece of crystal, and I think you can improve on it.
(On another note....not sure what you mean by 'murky secrets.' I hope the women in your family never tell!)

I like the reflections and colors in the goblet. The lighting is well done. The image would be more simplistic without the tile and would be interesting to see. But the tile does add another dimension both under the glass and in the reflection, Maybe just move the glass so it is centered on the grout line or a tile. I like it. Very interesting!

Hi Philly and Jamie,
Thanks so much for your comments. I was ambivalent abou the grout. I think it does make the image quite busy, but I like how the modern lines of the tile extend into the older reflections of the hutch and the crystal. In the end, I think simplifying the image would probably be better. I wish I had time to shoot it again, but I am off to a conference first thing tomorrow morning. I do appreciate your comments very much, however.
