A friend of mine is a 1.6-cropper ATM and he wants to buy my 10-22. I am not willing to say goodbye to the UWA 'til I buy a FF or 1.3 crop (1.3 crop is more likely) so I was wondering what I could do...
either...
sell the 10-22 to my friend and buy Sigma's 12-24 (19mm equivalent)
or
hold the 10-22 'til I can know if will buy a FF or 1.3 crop
Now, I have the 17-40L, for the FF, and I'd sell that if I'll buy a 1.3 crop.
I guess the wisest thing to do is sell the 10-22 and buy the 12-24, hold the 17-40L and sell either of those when it's clear which format I'll buy
What 40D deliveres is fine quality and fast focus and burst...
What 5D II will likely deliver is super quality, fast focus but a slow burst - and not a very high pixel ratio.
Combining those cameras and adding better build, weather sealing et cetera you get the 1D III. I'd really like that one as it has a bit of crop, not too much and not too little, very fast autofocus (and to add - I don't use AI Servo at all) and very good image quality. Same pixel ratio on the new 5D II will likely mean that the quality will be the same of both cameras and I don't need more than 10 mpx for sure.
Haha, not 100% decided on that one yet, will probably buy it after PMA, or just wait for the 1D IIIn if it'll come at PMA. Or the 1D III if the focus issues are really gone.
But still, I seldom use burst and I don't really use AI Servo - so, well, the 1D III should be fine.
